1. Bill Viola - Emergence: I found this video to be quite interesting; it is not like anything I have seen before in the past. To me it seems like there is a religious aspect to this video which I thought made the video more interesting. I enjoyed the use of sound and image in this piece. 2. Bruce Nauman - Pinch Neck: I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this piece, I think because I don't really understand it or what the message is that the artist is trying portray. I thought it was interesting that the artist chose to not include sound in the piece. 3. Joan Jonas - Vertical Roll: For the most part I enjoyed Vertical Roll -- I liked the use of repetition in the piece, however I found the sound in the background was very piercing. 4. Vito Acconci - Open Book: The tone of the video was video was pretty creepy -- it was very uncomfortable to watch. Homework #2

If someone lies about the small stuff, should you believe him when he talks about things that really matter? All Americans, not just the media, should ask that question about Trump and answer it for themselves. The author suggests that the answer is no. What Trump said about the size of the inauguration crowd, who wrote his speech, and the location of the concert was incorrect. And it was easily proved that it was incorrect. What makes an incorrect statement a lie, is the intent of the person making the statement. If he knew what he said was not the truth. If so, then we can and should call it a lie. We all make mistakes and say things that we think are true but are not. Lies, however, are not mistakes. Why lie about trivial and unimportant things? Why try to say that there are "alternate facts" at issue. Facts are facts.They are not opinions.

5 year plan

Five years from now, I will have graduated from Temple University. I don’t know where I will be in terms of my art, but I know I want to want to make a contribution and bring something of myself to the world of art. Maybe I will be offering private art lessons to students, because I have always enjoyed working with younger kids. I will most likely be living in an apartment either in Baltimore, MD (where I’m from), or Philadelphia depending on job opportunities. It’s hard to say where I will be in 5 years from now but I’m hoping I will be more confident and happy person.
